[Review] Tonymoly Luminous Goddess Aura Make-Up MIST

Hello!

I'm back with another review; this time, it's on Tonymoly's "Luminous Goddess Aura Makeup Mist"! (The name is so long, seriously.) Endorsed by Kpop group, T-ara!

I picked this product just on a random whim. I do have a few mists in my collection, but they haven't really been used a lot. Maybe a single spritz? I'm not sure why I picked this one - and after having it in my hands, I even regretted it!

But no worries! After using this mist, it's become one of my favourite products, and I use it every time I apply makeup.

Product description

I'll describe it pretty briefly here: It's a mist mixed with both oil and water, and can be used before or after makeup application. The below description from online shop Momomango describes it excellently!

Tony Moly's Luminous Goddess Aura Mist is a multple use mist which can be used both before and after makeup.  It's no secret that heavy makeup use can do a number on your skin, so keep it fresh and protected with Tony Moly's hydrating mist!  A 3:7 ratio of oil and water layered mixture helps keep your skin skin soft, moist and hydrated to prevent dry and flaky skin.

Packaging: It comes in a pinkish bottle made of plastic. It's pretty sturdy, and I have no fear of accidentally dropping this baby! (Not that I'd want to, but y'know.)

The spray nozzle is strong, and gives a good spritz. I only need 1 spritz to cover my entire face.
I really dislike the nozzles where it gives a choking, "half hearted" spritz, and you've got nothing on your face after a good 4 pumps. Bleh!

Size: It comes in a 80ml bottle.

Scent: There is a scent to this mist. I can't really describe it, but it smells... fruity? I really like it, ahaha.

More info:
- Mixture of oil and water (shake before use)
- Lasts 12 months after first use
- Prevents dry skin
- Multi use, can be used before/after makeup
- Bottom of bottle: Manufacture date

Remember to shake well before use!

Directions

1. Shake well before use.
2. Hold bottle 20-30 cm distance from face when spraying

In the picture, I'm actually spraying the product - it's not for show or anything like that. You can't really see the spray in the picture, though! Sorry.

Initial/after thoughts

Like I said - I actually pretty much regretted picking this product up. I realized after that it had a 3:7 ratio of oil and water. I thought "OIL? OIL?" and freaked out, because I thought it'd mess up my skin and give me clogged pores, or something crazy like that.

When I used it, I was really happy though! It made my skin feel really fresh, and it didn't feel heavy at all. After use, my face felt really, really soft and smooth - smoother than a baby's butt. I likeee. I also really like that the main ingredient in this product is Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract (Aloe Vera)!

My skin looked super dewy after use, but it does die down later. It still gives you a healthy glow on your face (nothing too drastic), so I really like it!

Right after use

So, in summary:

Pros:
- Inexpensive
- A little goes a long way, so it's cost efficient too!
- Makes skin smoother, softer, moisturized
- Gives a dewy look
- Prevents dryness/flakey skin
- Prevents "cakey" foundation application (or fixes it)

Cons:
- I honestly can't think of any...

Repurchase: Yes! It's not expensive, and it really makes my skin super soft and gives it a fresh feeling. I really like this product. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a good, inexpensive mist!

What about you?
Do you use mists? What do you think about this product?

[Circle lens review] Geo 3 tone brown!

Hey guys!
I'm back with another review, this time on a circle lens pair!

I purchased the "Geo 3 tone brown" from circlelens.com a few months ago for $17.50. I mentioned these in a post a couple of days ago - this series is my absolute favourite! The colours in this line are super pretty, and even though I'm a brown lens kind of girl, I'd even try this in violet!

Description and information

Brand: Geo Medical
Base curve: 8.6 mm
Diameter: 14.2 mm
Life: 12 months
Colour: 3 toned
Water content: 38%
Made in Korea

"World Series is the tri color lens that blends shades of different color and the brown in the middle in order to imitate the natural eye color. The printing also blends in the natural eye color, resulting in not too vibrant, but definitely noticeable, even from afar. World Brown is recommended for people who want to change the color of their eyes, but do not want any enlargement effect."
- Circlelens.com

This line goes by several different names:

- Berry Cessy
- World series
- Geo 3 tones
- The "official name" for these lenses are CM90_. (There's a different number at the end for each colour.)

My favourite colour has got to be brown (for now), it looks really nice in the shop photos! They're 3 toned, so it'll blend quite nicely with your real eye colour. I personally think these are the prettiest lenses I've seen so far, but I'm just an overall fan of 3 tones aha.

Anyways, I was really nervous when I saw them in person though - the colour doesn't look brown, but it looks orange-y. Definitely not what I had imagined, so I was pretty much sure that I'd have to toss these.

[Review] The Face Shop volcanic clay nose strips

This is going to be a pretty embarrassing (and gross) post!

My nose has been pretty "pluggy" the last few days. Clogged pores were just happily clogging it up! So in order to combat this, I decided to arm myself with these volcanic clay (charcoal) nose strips from The Face Shop.

You've probably seen the other version of this product: The Face Shop volcanic clay nose pack! (It's the one that comes in the tube, and is a white coloured paste.

Note: This packaging is the "newer" version of TFS's old charcoal pore strips (the packaging design was discontinued)

Description

These strips are made of New Zealand volcanic clay, which is described as being a "pore clear agent" and a natural mineral.

"There are volcanic activities in New Zealand Rotorua area. This activity creates hot mud spots. New Zealand Rotorua Mud is one of the best three muds in the world!"

I bought the box set of these strips. The box comes with 7 separately packaged strips! If you don't want to buy 7 of them, there is always an option of buying a single strip.

"It has strong blackhead and oily secretion absorption properties. Supported with pore minimizing ingredients, the charcoal pore strip will leave your skin feeling tight and smooth!"

Packaging and directions

I bought the box, which contains 7 nose strips. If 7 strips is too much for you, most sites sell strips individually.

Packaging was straightforward - the directions come in both English and Korean (They both literally say the exact same thing, so there's no need for translation).

And picture demos! You know I love them!

(In case it's hard to read from the picture)

1. Wash face, leaving nose thoroughly wet (seriously, it needs to be REALLY wet!)
2. Remove the clear lining from the smooth side of the strip.
3. Apply across the bridge of the nose, pressing down firmly to ensure maximum contact. (!!!)
4. Let dry for 10-15 minutes until the strip has hardened.
5. Slowly peel off.

Texture

There's a fuzzy side (the side that should be facing up, not touching your skin) and the smooth, black side (the side that should be touching your skin)

Fuzzy side!
This is the smooth side - it's really smooth. Yep.
By the way, really sorry that the lighting is terrible and everything basically looks fuzzy as heck! It won't happen again in future reviews/pictures!

Price

Box - $4.50 on eBay
Individual strips - $1 (everywhere)

My experience
Welp, here comes the horrifying part.

The pores on my nose were super clogged. The lighting in the room was also super, super yellow, so sorry if you can't see too clearly! (Uhm, I'm sure you can still see a lot though.)

Super size me YAYYY.
Delicious!
(Okay, I'm disgusting.)

So after I washed my face with warm water and steamed it a bit (it is highly recommended that you steam your face before using these), I used a strip! You have to make sure that your face is really wet, or else the strip won't have anything more to stick to.

When applying it on your nose, make sure you're actually pressing down firmly. You want the strip to stick to all the nooks and crannies of your little nose! :D

At first, the strip felt really flimsy and floppy - like it would fall off easily. But it won't - the it really sticks on, given that your face is wet! As the minutes ticked by, I could really feel the strip hardening on my nose. It felt weird crinkling my nose, because the strip was all tight and clingy on my face. Yay.

After 15 minutes had passed, I pulled it off! And no - it didn't hurt at all. Some black parts (like on the edge of the strip) ended up still stuck on my face, but it can easily be scrubbed off with an exfoliator.

Taaaadaaa.

[My nose after the strip]

Well, it definitely pulled some gunk out. Like most strips, it mostly just pulled out my face fuzzel (those little fuzzy hairs on your nose).

But after using the strip, my face really did feel smoother. Like a baby's bottom! It also felt a bit tighter, but not in a "omg the botox feel" way. My nose felt less oilier as well, which is always a nice thing.

Before using the strip, my nose felt cloggy, gross and... I don't know, like it was harder for my nose-skin to breathe? But after using it, my nose felt lighter and cleaner. And it felt like my nose could breathe.

I must sound crazy right now, LOL.

To sum it up:

Pros
- Cheap
- Easy to use
- Black coloured, so you can see what you pull out! (Everyone likes looking at their gunk.)
- Lightly scented (it isn't overpowering)
- Nose less clogged
- Nose less oily
- Tightens skin
- Doesn't hurt when peeling off

Cons
- Mostly face fuzzel removed

Repurchase?
Yes, I'll repurchase this when my nose isn't in the best of shape! I think it's great for the price, and definitely worth it. It's fun to look at the gross nose strip too, so... it's basically cheap entertainment as well. Amiright?

Overall rating:

4/5 (Because it's nothing "OMG this has changed my life!")

What about you?

Have you tried these nose strips, or nose strips in general? Do you like using them?

Korean cosmetics haul! [Tonymoly, Etude house, The Face Shop]

It's so hot in Toronto right now. You can feel the sun bearing holes into your back when you walk down the streets, I'm not even joking.

To add to the crazy factor - I don't have AC in my house

Because it's absolutely boiling inside the house, I always try to find ways to get the heck out and take advantage of AC in malls! Ahaha~ So that's exactly what I did yesterday, when I decided to go to Pacific mall.

I hadn't visited the Tonymoly store yet, so that was my #1 priority! I finally found it (it was beside the Amore Pacific store)

So anyways - Pmall. I went in empty handed, and I came out with this.

Here's a list of what I got that day:

1. 10 Tonymoly cucumber mask sheets
2. 10 Tonymoly pomegranate mask sheets (+2 Tonymoly snail mask sheets as a gift from store)
3. 10 C&F herb mask sheets
4. 10 C&F cucumber and green tea mask sheets

5. 3 The Face Shop nail polishes
6. The Face Shop "pink cushion" blush
7. The Face Shop herb day lip and eye makeup remover tissues
8. [2] The Face Shop nail repair sheets (lemon and paraffin)
9. The Face Shop cotton pad box

10. [2] Tonymoly bunny bars (#3 apple, #4 cherry)
11. Tonymoly cooling eyes stick
12. [2] Missha hand creams

13. Etude house juicy cocktail graduation nails (Princess Mary)
14. LOTS of samples

Masks

Sorry if the packaging looks foggy - I had put them in the fridge (I always use my masks cold), and I took them out to take pictures!

Tonymoly had a mask sale (10 masks for $10), so I went crazy. The shop girl gave me 2 snail masks for free as well, and said that they were a "hot selling" item right now. I don't doubt her at all - snail emulsion stuff has been a pretty big craze nowadays.

I've never tried Tonymoly's masks before, so I hope they work well for me! ^____^

I also bought 20 C&F masks at "Debbie". It's a store that sells Missha, Tonymoly, Dr. Jart, etc!

These masks are always on a "package deal". You buy 10 for $10. They're a regular purchase for me, I absolutely LOVE these masks. They work wonders on my skin, and make it look and feel amaaaazing. *___* I bought 10 herb, 5 cucumber, 5 green tea!

The Face Shop

I've been to this shop so many times, the ajumma there recognizes me. I bought the above items, and the total price wasn't a lot at all - I think I paid around $12 for the above stuff. Still, she gave me SO many samples, I liked that a lot heheh.

Random stuff

These were just random stuff I bought.  Can you guess why I bought 2 more Tonymoly bunny bars, and 2 hand creams? ^___~

Anyways, I'm excited to try the Tonymoly fresh aqua cooling eyes stick! It looks pretty cool, and I got it for only $3! (It was on sale, ahaha) The Etude House nail set looks SO pretty as well! So excited, yayyyy!

Well, that's my haul for this post! Whoohoo, I did go a little mask crazy...

By the way - if anyone lives in Toronto or goes to Pmall: "Debbie" is having a crazy sale right now! I just had to take some pictures and let you guys know!

What did you get on your latest haul? Have you tried these products before?

[Review] Laneige Deep Cleansing Oil Moisture

I haven't hid my love for Laneige. They have always impressed me, and I continue to repurchase my HG products as well as trying out new ones! Laneige's "Deep cleansing oil moisture" was one of these first-time purchases for me. This product is an oil based makeup remover!

To be honest, I'm not sure why I bought it. I was pretty happy (but bored) with my Sephora oil-based makeup remover, but I guess I felt like a change in my routine!

Let's jump into this review!

Description

"Dryness-free"
- Mild & thorough cleansing for clear and bright skin
- A moisture cleansing oil that quickly and gently removes heavy makeup leaving skin moist and purified
- The smooth, gel-like cleansing oil stays on the skin. May be used with wet hands!
- For normal to dry skin types

As you can see, the bottle comes in a pump form - and there's 175 ml of product that you get! It does last a pretty long time. I've used it a couple times so far, and it doesn't look like its been used at all! It still looks like there's 100% product left... o___o

Product benefits: Skin-soothing witch hazel extracts and moisturizing plant-based squalane sooth fatigued skin and leaves it moist.
- Mild cleansing oil that is free of mineral oil!
- "Dermatologic test and non-comedogenic (non clogging) test proved that it does not cause or worsen acne"

Price:
Ebay (cheapest): $33
Amazon (cheapest): $29
Laneige: $30

Directions

- Pump 3 times and gently massage onto face for about 1 minute to remove makeup and residues.
- Add a little bit of lukewarm water to melt the oil and wash off with lukewarm water. You may use foam cleansing if desired.
- May also be used with wet hands!
- The oil retains its cleansing property on wet hands for easier application and more convenient use.

My experience

This is a good product. It works, it takes off your makeup 100%, it doesn't dry your skin out, etc. It does what it says it'll do. I have no problems with that! Below are some pictures of the product in action.

What a messy arm! Hehe~

1. Lancome 5 colour design eyeshadow palette (Bronze amour)
2. Lancome 5 colour design eyeshadow palette (Bronze amour)
3. Bobbi brown lip and cheek tint
4. Tonymoly petite bunny gloss bar (#4 Apple)
5. Holika Holika jewel light eyeliner (Amber brown)
6. Holika Holika jewel light eyeliner (Pink topaz)
7. Holika Holika jewel light eyeliner (Black)
8. Dollywink liquid eyeliner (Black)
9. Etude house nymph aura pact (Natural beige)
10. Tonymoly backstage gel liner (#2 Brown)
11. Benefit tint (Posie tint)
12. Benefit sun beam
13. Benefit tint (Chacha tint)
14. Missha Perfect Cover BB cream (#23)
15. The Face Shop faceit auto gel liner (Brown)

Phew. That's a lot of stuff on my arm.

The product is a clear colour (don't let the baby pink bottle fool you!), and it's pretty lightweight. It feel smooth on my skin. My Sephora oil cleanser (the "supreme" one in the green pump bottle) definitely feels heavier and "thicker" than this Laneige one.

Different light
All that makeup gone! I do find that it removes makeup faster than my Sephora one! It's not hard to wash off, and does not leave an oily film over your skin! It removes the makeup 100%, even the waterproof ones.

After use, the product really lives up to its claim and doesn't let my skin feel dry, tight or oily. (Y'know that feeling you get if you don't wash an oil cleanser off properly? I hate that!) I personally think it's a nice product to have, especially for people with normal to dry skin, as well as sensitive skin!

I've used this product a couple of times now, enough to say that it does not break me out. I get no acne, no clogged pores, no whiteheads from using this product. That's pretty darn good!

Now, to recap...

Pros
- The nice packaging
- Portable (it comes with a removable pump-lock)
- No mineral oil
- Doesn't clog pores
- Doesn't dry out or irritate skin
- Completely removes makeup!
- 1-2 pumps is enough for me. A little goes a long way with this remover (it recommends 3).

Cons
- Expensive
- Works as well as good, $10 removers (my Sephora one)

Repurchase? No.
It works as well as my cheap, $10, oil based remover. Even though this product does work, is effective and live up to all of its claims, it's just way too much for my wallet. Why would I spend $30 on something that I can get for $10? (I can totally use that saved $20 on food hehe.)

If I were rich, I'd definitely buy this as my regular remover. But I'm not, so eh - Sephora brand for me!

I love Laneige, and may be their #1 fan. But sorry Laneige, this one I'd have to skip next time! T__T

Rating: 3/5
2 points (I know, that's a lot of points) docked for the price.

What about you? Have you used this cleanser before?
Would you spend $30+ on a oil based cleanser? (Or am I just crazy cheap? Ahaha)
